Does the battery recharge when I pedal or go down hill? Follow

The short answer is no, DŌST Bikes do not recharge when you pedal, go down hills or when you brake, what’s known as a “regenerative” system. In fact, there are no mid-drive motor designs that do regenerate to our knowledge. Regeneration is typically achieved with a “hub drive motor” - where the motor is in the centre of the front or rear wheel - and even in this class of eBikes, regenerative (Direct Drive) systems are becoming increasingly less popular.
